Understand Your Privacy Rights and Data Options

Shipcom Wireless, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“Shipcom”, “We”, “our” or “us”) respects the privacy of our users and is committed to safeguarding and maintaining your personal data in line with all applicable data protection laws and regulations. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information in connection with the Shipcom website, shipcom.io (the “Website”, and together with any related pages or subdomains, the “Sites”). It also explains your rights and choices with respect to such information. Shipcom reviews and updates this Privacy Policy on a regular basis as necessary. You are encouraged to check back regularly. If we make any material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this Privacy Policy to reflect such changes.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully and let us know if you have any questions. The Sites are operated for commercial purposes to provide information regarding Shipcom’s products and services. By visiting or using our Sites or otherwise providing information to us, you are consenting to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. When we refer to “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we mean information that identifies or which could be reasonably used to identify any individual.

Information that We Collect

We and our service providers collect a variety of information through the Sites and by other means, which may include:

  • Information you submit. We collect information when you voluntarily provide it to us, such as by completing a form on our Website, sending us an email, or otherwise contacting us. This may include your name, email address, phone number, company name, job title, and the content of your communication or inquiry.
  • Information collected automatically. We or our third-party service providers may automatically receive and record certain information when you use our Sites. This may include information such as your device’s IP address, information about your use of the Sites during your current session and over time (including the pages you view and your interactions with them), the date and time of your visit, links you click, searches conducted, the website visited before navigating to the Website, your software and hardware attributes (including browser and operating system type and version), and your general location inferred from IP address. To obtain such information, we, Google, or our other third-party service providers may use the technologies described below, as well as third-party analytics services as described in the section below titled “Third-Party Analytics,” to recognize your device and collect information about your usage of the Sites:
    • Server logs. When you use the Website, we automatically receive and record certain information from your computer (or other device) and your browser. To obtain such information, we may use server logs or applications that recognize your device and gather information about its online activity.
    • Cookies. The Website uses “cookies,” which are small text files that are stored on your computer that retain your information, activities, and/or preferences relative to your activities on a website. Should you wish to prevent your computer from accepting cookies from the Website, you can change the settings on your web browser to either block cookies sent from the Website, or to disable cookies altogether. Please note that the Website may not function properly, or may function differently, if you choose not to receive cookies.
    • Web beacons. Our Sites may contain electronic images known as web beacons (sometimes called single-pixel gifs), which are used along with cookies to compile aggregated statistics to analyze how our Sites are used. Web beacons may also be used in emails we send to let us know which emails and links have been opened by recipients, allowing us to assess the effectiveness of our communications. You may disable web beacons by changing your browser settings or the settings in your email program.

We may combine information collected through the Sites with information that we collect in other contexts, such as information from email communications with you. We will treat such combined information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

How We Use Information that We Collect

We and our service providers use the information that we collect for a variety of purposes, which may include, but is not limited to:

  • Communicating with you and providing our services. For example, we may use your information to respond to your inquiries, fulfill requests submitted through our Website, and provide you with information about our products and services.
  • Conducting analytics and improving our services. To count and recognize visitors to the Sites, analyze how visitors use the Sites and the data hosted on the Sites, improve the Sites, and conduct analytics, including as described in the section below titled “Third-Party Analytics.”
  • Legal purposes. For legal or other necessary purposes, including as described below in the section titled “How We Share Information.”
  • For marketing and promotional purposes. To send you information about our products, services, and offerings that may be of interest to you, subject to any applicable legal requirements. You may opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in the footer of any promotional email from us or by contacting us as described in the “Contacting Us” section below. Please note that opting out of marketing communications will not affect service-related messages that we are required to send to you.

How We Share Information

We share information with third parties for a variety of reasons, including, but not limited to the following:

  • Service providers & Affiliates. We use third-party service providers to help us manage and improve our Website. These service providers may collect and use your information to assist us in achieving the purposes discussed in this Privacy Policy. For example, we may use third parties to perform data storage and processing services and to perform analytics, including as described in the section below titled “Third-Party Analytics.”
  • Marketing partners. We may share information with third-party marketing and advertising partners to assist us in promoting our products and services, subject to applicable law.
  • Legal purposes. We may use or share information with third parties when we believe, in our sole reasonable discretion, that doing so is necessary:
    • To comply with applicable law or a court order, subpoena, or other legal process;
    • To investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal or prohibited activities, suspected fraud, violations of our rules or terms and conditions, or situations involving threats to other individuals, our property, or the property or physical safety of any person or third party;
    • To establish, protect, or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
  • Aggregated and de-identified information. We may share aggregated and de-identified information with third parties, such as by sharing reports with third parties about trends in the usage of the Website.

Third-Party Analytics

We partner with certain third parties to collect information to engage in analytics. These third parties may use server logs, web beacons, tags, pixels, and similar technologies, and they may set and access cookies on your computer or other device. In particular, our Website uses Google Analytics to help collect and analyze certain information for the purposes discussed above. Where required by applicable law, we recognize opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (“GPC”), as valid requests to opt out of the sale or sharing of Personal Information and targeted advertising. When we receive such a signal, we will treat it as an opt-out request for the browser or device sending the signal. We will process the signal without requiring any additional action from you and without degrading your experience. For sharing with third parties not covered by such signals, the Website does not currently respond to “do not track” browser signals.

Third-Party Links and Website

The Website may contain links to third-party websites or information provided by third parties. We do not endorse or recommend such third-party websites or the content therein, and we are not responsible for the privacy practices of the operators of such websites. Please be aware that when you access links on our Website to a third-party website, you are bound by the privacy policies and practices of that third party. We encourage you to review the applicable privacy policies and terms and conditions of such parties or websites.

Data Security and Retention

Shipcom uses commercially reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect your information and data against loss or unauthorized access, use, modification, or deletion. However, no security program is 100% secure, and thus we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information or data.

Shipcom retains your information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Sites to you, to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, or as required by law. If you would like us to delete your personal information, please submit a request by contacting us as described in the “Contacting Us” section below.

Children's Privacy

The Sites are designed and intended exclusively for use by businesses and their adult representatives. The Sites are not directed to or intended to be used by individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from anyone under the age of 18. If you become aware or reasonably suspect that we have collected Personal Information from any individual under the age of 18, please contact us immediately as described in the “Contacting Us” section below, and we will seek to delete such Personal Information as soon as possible. If you are under the age of 18, please do not use our Sites or submit any Personal Information to us.

Information for Individuals Located Within the EU and UK

As defined under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), including as retained by the United Kingdom (“UK GDPR”), individuals located within the EU and UK are granted certain rights over their Personal Information, including:

  • Right to be informed: You have the right to be informed about the collection and use of your Personal Information, including our purposes for processing, our retention periods, and to whom we will disclose it.
  • Right of Access: You have the right to request confirmation that data about you is being processed and to receive a copy of the Personal Information processed about you.
  • Right to Rectification: You have the right to request the rectification of any Personal Information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Right to Erasure: You have the right to request the erasure of your Personal Information, subject to applicable legal requirements and exceptions.
  • Right to Restriction of Processing: You have the right to request the restriction of processing of your Personal Information in certain circumstances as provided under applicable law.
  • Right to Data Portability: You have the right to receive the Personal Information concerning you in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, and to transmit that data to another controller without hindrance.
  • Right to Object: You have the right to object to the processing of your Personal Information at any time, including where processing is based on legitimate interests or is for the purposes of direct marketing.

To exercise any of the above rights, please contact us as described in the “Contacting Us” section below. Upon receiving your request, we will confirm receipt and aim to address your request without undue delay and no later than one (1) month from the date of receipt. We may need to request identification from you to confirm your identity before fulfilling your request. If for any reason we are unable to fulfill your request, we will inform you of our decision in writing and any further rights available to you.

Information for Users from Outside the United States

The Personal Information that we collect through or in connection with the Sites may be transferred to and processed outside the country of your residence, for the purposes described above. We also may subcontract the processing of your data to, or otherwise share your data with, third parties in the United States or countries other than your country of residence. The data-protection laws in these countries may be different from, and less stringent than, those in your country of residence. By agreeing to this Privacy Policy in the course of using the Sites or by providing any Personal Information to us, you expressly consent to such transfer and processing.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically in the future. If we make any material changes, we will post the revised Privacy Policy on our Sites and update the effective date at the top of this Privacy Policy to indicate when the revised Privacy Policy takes effect.
